Android/unity game

This is a personal project I've been working on for the last month or so. Its an on rails shooting game that's planned for the Android/IOS platform.
Although its a very early work in progress I'm quite pleased with it. So far I have it running @ 25fps+ on a2 year old middle of the range phone.

Old stuff & happy New Year

Happy New Year!
I was hoping to post something once a month even if it was a quick doodle, but unfortunately I haven't had much time to do any new personal work.
Instead have some some old stuff I found..... hmm found sounds like I didn't know it was there ... ok, some stuff I knew was there but forgot about, if that makes any sense. Anyway stuff I did before.

An architecture doodle, It hasnt really got a particular architectural style.  
The mesh doesn't look too bad.However I didn't like the way the textures turned out.

Old half elf doodle

I've been pretty busy of late, so not much time for personal stuff. This I did in a couple of hours however. Newer versions of Zbrush have really got me thinking twice about using traditional 2d packages for concepts.
Especially as the pipeline makes it that much easier to get a concept to model in a much much shorter time.

Recent doodles

A zbrush doodle based on a sketch by the awesome Justin Rodrigues .
I thought I'd do some quick 3d environments, I gave my self some basic rules, that are, each mesh can take 8 hours or less and the polycount should be suitable for games.

I took the reference images from Reddit, picking what ever caught my eye on the day.
the top image took less than 4 hours, the Image  above took 6-8 hours.

Website redesign

I've redesigned my portfolio website somewhat , It should no longer blind anyone with its over saturated goodness, I have toned the whole site down considerably.
I've also added this Luger , I'm not really into guns but the shape of this one as always caught my eye for some reason.

tips for PS/update

Some handy tips for texturing in Photoshop can be found here.
On a personal note, I've been updating(re lighting, texture changes mesh tweaks) some old scenes that I've found laying around for the portfolio, this is one of the scenes.

I've so far worked the lighting removed a bunch of tiles, I'm currently replacing the gold statues with something I hope will look a little better and working on a fence that's going to surround the inner circle.

Portfolio update

I've been busy updating my portfolio most of my spare time has been taken up making the screen shots bigger, tweaking models/textures that weren't going to take a lot of work, like the image below, which I finally managed to rig at last.

Lets just say with my meager knowledge of rigging , I'm just happy his torso is facing the right way.

Scifi scene

I'm still adding bits to the scene when I can, the top light and new steps(see below) have been added. I would have like to have devoted more time to this than I have in the last few weeks, but  updating/tidying/rearranging my portfolio and work has taken up most of my time.
I've started to export the scene over to udk, I cant seem to get the right feel with toolbag, So I'm going to experiment a bit with both.
